LSS Travel Ambassadors are registered healthcare providers who have less than one year of experience but are eager to start their travel careers.
Our Instructor Partners thoughtfully select Ambassadors from the best and brightest students who have excelled during the course and have indicated a desire to become a traveler. LSS provides instructors with detailed criteria of skills and traits imperative for Ambassador Program participants. Attendance and skill performance, as well as overall attitude and flexibility are just a few examples of the essential requirements to becoming a successful healthcare traveler Ambassador.
A member of the LSS Recruitment team will contact the selected student(s) to complete all required compliance documentation and onboarding procedures. Ambassadors are then expertly matched with a participating Client Partner facility.
Client Partner facilities who participate in the program will not only get help from a professional who is eager to learn and ready to work, but will also benefit from a discounted bill rate for the first 4 weeks of the assignment.
To set up the Ambassador for success and to ensure residents consistently receive proper care, the following expectations must be met:
1. ORIENTATION: Ambassadors will be required to shadow a senior staff or charge person in the facility for 2 consecutive shifts (or 20 hours) prior to working their first solo shift.
2. SCHEDULING: Ambassadors can not exceed 32 work hours/week for the first 8 weeks. After successfully completing an 8 week assignment, they can be scheduled for 40+ hours.
3. WEEKLY EVALUATION: LSS will send an Ambassador Weekly Evaluation communication every Monday to be completed by a facility management team member. This will help LSS monitor the progress of the Ambassador and to address any issues in a timely manner.
4. LEGACY LEARNING: Ambassadors are required to participate in monthly virtual training sessions on topics relevant to the healthcare industry.
LSS management will immediately remove any Ambassador or Client Facility participant who fails to meet these requirements. Additional consequences may be considered on a case-by-case basis if necessary. Consequences may include, but are not limited to: Ambassador disciplinary action including termination, reversal or removal of invoice credits or discounts awarded to Client Partners.
